Sara Sommerfeld is an award-winning multilingual Swedish actress with more than three decades of experience across film, television and theatre.

She rose to prominence opposite Alexander Skarsgård in Wings of Glass and has since appeared in over 50 leading roles across film, television and theatre.

Alongside her acting career, Sara writes and directs her own work, including the critically acclaimed solo performance Show Bizniz, presented on the Main Stage of Sweden's Royal Dramatic Theatre and broadcast on Swedish national television.

A graduate of the Swedish Theatre Academy, she has built a career spanning more than three decades — establishing herself as one of Sweden's most versatile performers, known for her ability to move fluidly between genres and languages.

Sara Sommerfeld is a graduate of the highly acclaimed screenwriting school Alma Manusutbildning and has completed advanced training at Stockholm University of Dramatic Arts and SVT's TV-series writing programme.

In 2023 she made her playwriting debut with the critically acclaimed solo performance Show Bizniz on the Main Stage of Sweden's Royal Dramatic Theatre — later touring Sweden and broadcast by SVT in 2025.

"Since the age of ten, when entering the movie business and theatre, I've been passionate about researching human behaviours, relationships and life stories. As a second-generation immigrant and a child of parents who once lost everything, I'm deeply interested in themes such as identity, high achievement and equality."

Director

Sara is educated in directing at Stockholm University of Dramatic Arts/Filmbasen and is a graduate of Alma Manusutbildning. Her films consistently center on human stories told with intimacy and social awareness — whether in film, commercial or stage.

My Grandmother and the Holocaust

Broadcast in prime time on TV4. Received the prestigious scholarship from the Micael Bindefeld Foundation. Sara was deeply involved in every stage — from research and script to recording, editing and post-production. The film is now distributed in Swedish schools, where Sara also gives lectures.
